Official Contest Rules

Panasonic’s AG-AF100 Large Imager Digital Cinema Camera makes capturing cinematic-like images easier than ever with the shallow depth of field and precision controls video pros desire. Capture your vision in whatever form that may be, nature, short film, commercial, music video or documentary and you could win a fantastic prize. There’s even a student category for aspiring filmmakers.

Step 1: Shoot Your Video

Shoot a video that showcases the innovative way you are using your Panasonic AG-AF100. Tell us how the camera allowed you to capture unique footage and improve the quality of your piece.

Step 2: Upload Your Video

Upload the video (no more than five minutes in length) on this website. We recommend uploading videos that are compressed using: H.264 / AAC, 30 FPS, 2000 kbits/sec (SD) / 5000 kbits/sec (HD), 640x480 (SD) / 1280x720 (HD), 320 kbps / 44.100 kHz Audio, in MP4 format. Log in to create an account and submit your video (format options: flv, wmv, avi, mpg, mp4, and m4v) in one of the six categories. You will be asked to include a title for the video and a brief written explanation of how your Panasonic AG-AF100 allowed you to capture your subject best. Make sure to tell your friends and colleagues about your entry. They can access the site to view your videos and others and rate them to let the judges know who they think should be selected as a semi-finalist!  Upload your video now.

Step 3: Final Judging & Voting Phase

Panasonic Chooses Category Semi-Finalists
After the submission deadline of Wednesday, March 7, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. EST, a panel of judges will choose three semi-finalists in each category. Judging panels will be composed of Panasonic Pro Video personnel.

Popular Vote Determines Category Winners
On March 12, 2012, the top three winners in each category will be posted online. From March 12 through April 4, 2012, the public will have the opportunity to vote for the 1st place winner in each category via the Shoot It | Share It website.

Panasonic Chooses the Grand Prize Winner
The semi-finalist category winners and the grand prize winner will be announced during the NAB 2012 show in Las Vegas, NV.

JUDGING CRITERIA

When submitting your video, indicate how Panasonic’s AG-AF100 helped bring your vision to life in a particularly unique, interesting, or exciting way.

  1. Filmmaking / shot design: The judges will consider how well your short film is composed in a technical sense
  2. Creativity / inventiveness: The judges will also consider the overall creativity and inventiveness of your idea and its execution.
  3. Ability to convey your unique vision: Last but certainly not least, the judges will consider how unique your idea is, and how effectively you brought your vision to life.
